Mixed Martial Arts On The Beach in Atlantic City

A summer bash like no other, The MMA & Sports Expo Show of Strength returns to the Boardwalk and Beach in Atlantic City at The Pier Shops at Caesars casino and Bally’s July 7th and 8th 2012



The event will feature Celebrities, World Champion Strongmen and new this year the Muscle Beach Bikini & Physique Championships and the Mariani Gourmet Food BBQ competition sponsored by Kurt Angle Food and The Pier Shops at Caesars.

This is the way I will always remember Terrell Owens. Fake crying after a Dallas Cowboys lost.

Today I think Owens may have been shedding some real tears as he announced that he has let go of his agent of more than ten years Drew Rosenhaus.

I am in the media minority who enjoyed T.O's ups and downs and out right crazy.

However, even I have to question what NFL team could use the 38 year old receiver today.

Hopefully his new agent can get T.O a football job somewhere.

If not maybe Owens agent can contact Dennis Rodman and they can start reading scripts for The Surreal Life 2012.

Every now and then we as men have a WTF moment.
For example. The Men's Brief does not condone cheating on your wife.
If you must however, do not leave a message stating your name on the cell phone of the person you are cheating with. Tiger Wood's cell phone message might have been The WTF moment of that year.

So with that explained we ask you now WTF Happened To Boxing?

The heavy weight division is owned by two brothers neither American. If the Klitscho Brothers came in my office right now and robbed me at gun point, I would not be able to give the police a good description of them.

No Don King in boxing is like The 3 Stooges doing a Night with Curley, a Night with Larry and a Night with Moe in the theater. Everyone can see they need to be back together but the people who have the most to gain.

Today what's left of the boxing game is the few people who care waiting for Manny Pacquiao to get in the ring with Floyd Mayweather.

The biggest problem with that is after the fight, boxing may as well turn off the rest of the lights.

but.....

When The F Did MMA and Ultimate Fighting Become So Hot?
Mixed Martial Arts compared to boxing is like the high school quarter back looking at the prom queen and saying...."But she's corny compared to this girl with braces in the band. I love a girl who can carry a tuba."

When I first saw MMA and Ultimate Fighting I thought. "Lord. We used to go outside after a Bruce Lee movie and 'karate' fight up and down the block till time for dinner. Now they done made that 'ish' a sport."

Still if you are under 25 it's all about MMA.

So in closing....Boxing is dying...it's really dead but it doesn't know it yet.

The Men's Brief Man Of The Week: Mayor Lorenzo T. Langford

For Making Atlantic City Matter

There may not be a day that goes by when Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo T. Langford will not have to hear from his critics.

He has effectively explained to me during several interviews that the line of critics, the tons of "free advice', and chorus' of "You should have done this" comes with sitting in the big chair.

Right Or Wrong...no Mayor should take all the credit when things go well and no smart Mayor should deflect or not take things personally when things in their city do not meet acceptable standards. And no one should even run for mayor with out the goal of improving their city no matter how great it is.

It's called being a leader and I can truly say that during his term(s) e Mayor Of Atlantic City , Lorenzo Langford has been a leader.

We here at The Men's Brief are proud to select Mayor Langford as our very first Man of The Week for his vision to bring the Multi Culturial Heritage Festival Weekend to Atlantic City. In fact he did not so much as bring it here as he formed a vision and worked hard to bring it into being.

While making an appearance at The Kick Off Event which brought "Fly Jock" Tom Joyner to town I saw Mayor Langford and his wife working hard. Making trips back and forth from the WTTH offices to The Sandcastle Stadium. At one point I even saw Mayor Langford make a food run for Mike Tyson.

Please do not look at The Mayor running food as a negative thing. Again a leader makes sure things get done. Anyone can "lead" when "leading" consists of  "the same old, same old"  or just putting on a suit and waiting for applause.

While I enjoyed and still miss some of the old street festivals of Atlantic City, Mayor Langford has created some special with The Multi Culturial Heritage Festival.

He has put together a series of quality events that any city could be proud of and Atlantic City should embrace.

This weekend is a great a weekend as I have experienced sponsored by any city including Atlanta and Philadelphia.
